Yoga is a way for each of us to experience the fullness of our being on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level.
The challenges that arise in yoga allow us to tap into the strength and serenity that is our true self and express it on a daily basis.
My teaching philosophy is to distill the essence of joy in being present with ourselves in our bodies. I encourage my students to release fear and move through life with laughter in their hearts and peace in their spirits. As a mentor of mine once inspired into me the ultimate vulnerability is to “ live life on the edge of tears”
The art of teaching yoga is a gift that has been given to me by a variety of inspiring teachers who have influenced my understanding of yoga and how it can change lives. My first teacher training was with Erich Schiffman who asks his students to move into the stillness within as a means to find peace in their practice and their lives. This practice of moving deeper inside as we express through the physical body still influences my teaching style to this day. Other influences include Rod Stryker, Desiree Rimbaugh, Mark Whitewell, and Paul Grilley.
A new student can expect to find a comfortable welcoming environment where they can explore the world of yoga in safety. Flexibility in the body is not necessary although a willingness to move and explore is vital.
Experienced students will find be encouraged to challenge the perceptions of their personal practice while growing into a deeper connection of how yoga influences all aspects of our lives.
