The final tool that can be of great benefit in reducing streets in your life is the use of meditation. I know, some of you read that word and want to leave the room. But meditation doesn’t have to be a difficult process that involves hours of your day or a trip to an ashram to escape.
Meditation can be as simple as breathing in and breathing out. The one thing that is with you throughout your day and your life is your breath, even though you may not always be aware of it. Breathing in and breathing out are all part of your natural body functions and by using some awareness it can become a highly valuable meditation partner.
To begin with, focus all of your attention on your breath. Feel the full length of your inhale and the deep release of your exhale. Close your eyes and simply follow the breath in and out of your body. Nothing else needs to happen. If your thoughts start to wander, simply return to the breath. Noticing the inhale. Noticing the exhale.
Try this for three to five minutes at a time and you will be pleasantly surprised at the results. Meditation doesn’t have to be hard and with this technique you can integrate it into your daily life.
So take the time to take care of yourself, recognizing that the stress in your life, no matter how big or small, is real and that self-care can open the doors to living a fun and enjoyable life
