In step three of having a stress free holiday, we talked about getting some regular exercise every day. Just as important is step four, making sure to give yourself some down time, a special time that is just for you to be quiet with yourself.
So what makes you calm?
For some people it might be putting on your favorite holiday music and sitting quietly with a cup of tea. Others might chose to meditate or read a book. Sometimes it is just nice to catch a quick cat nap.
Taking the time to find quiet, uncomplicated, me time can be valuable in helping you to recharge your batteries and also let go of any tension or anxiety that might be building up.
As an old commercial jingle use to say, " You deserve a break today". So take a little time off from the holiday rush and enjoy each day of this festive time of year in peace and serenity.
